Default What happened to the seats on the roof?

I didn't make it to last couple of shoots and when I got here Sat (10th) I see a big pole barn where I feel was the best seats in the house. I have no idea what the space is actually being used for but it was a great loss of great seating. I have a sugestion, that I talked about at length between shoots with other spectators. Open the wall facing the range and fill the space with as many bleachers as possible. Charge those who choose to use this area extra, (say $5.00 each) people will fill the seats guarateed. I know plenty of die-hard guys who would have paid to use this space. At the very least more, taller bleachers are needed. Also another suggestion is to stop all vehicle traffic through the bleacher area after 5pm. People were almost being run over by the vendors leaving. I don't see any reason to take the risk just to let someone out who may as well stay and watch the show. I've stood on my soap box long enough, these were only suggestions and I know that I don't know the logistics of the shoot. Please take no offense, none was intended.

After 5 PM no vehicles were allowed to leave the grounds. We, as RO's, got word that if we wanted to be able to leave during the night shoot, we needed to park our cars before 5 PM in the visitors parking area instead of the lower range. However, comment to the pedestrians in that area, please allow these people to leave as well. I heard from other RO's that people just wouldn't let them through way before 5 PM. They would stand their ground while a car wanted to pass through.

I agree that people weren't moving very easily. The crowd was very large. I was sitting on the bleachers watching the whole thing. I just think that something needs to change before someone gets run over. I hate to see a great thing like this shoot get ruined by an accident that can be prevented by a better plan.

I agree with you but in your earlier post it sounded like you blamed the pedestrians. After a full day of running matches as RO's that come here every year, or the vendors that have been on their feet since early morning, I can understand that certain people are not staying for the night shoot. I stayed because I had a couple of new guys with me. We had our motel in Shepherdsville and were only back at the motel after 11 PM. We were up since 5:30 AM and needed to get back up around 6 AM the next morning. In that regard I understand that a lot of the other RO's didn't stay. For us Saturday was the toughest day and I was really worn out.

If we all would just work a little bit more together, everything would be solved without any problems. Just let the guys drive out if they want to. After 5 PM, all traffic is stopped.
